International Dentist Program Instructions for Admitted 2024 Students

  • Congratulations on your acceptance into the International Dentist Program at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, one of the nation’s premier centers for dental education, research and patient care.
  • This webpage provides information on how to formally accept your International Dentist Program admission offer.

Your signed IDP Statement of Confirmation must be received by the deadline date in your acceptance notification.

International Dentist Program 2023 - 2024 Estimated Expenses
  • The International Dentist Program consists of a Summer Program, followed by the last two years of the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program. IDP students must successfully complete the Summer Program to advance to the third year of the DDS program. 
  • Estimated costs for the IDP Summer Program and the last two years of dental school are outlined in the following document:

  • In order to formally accept our office of admission, IDP students must submit the following Summer Program fee payments by specific deadlines.
  • Note: Summer Program Fees are not part of your third or fourth year of tuition.
  • The 2024 Continuing Education International Dentist Program Summer Program Fee is $75,000 USD in total.
  • There are two IDP program fee payment installments:

Installment 1: $5,000 USD Deposit (due date indicated in your offer letter)

Installment 2: $70,000 USD Program Remaining Balance (due date indicated in your offer letter)

STEP 2: Submit Your Summer 2024 IDP Program Deposit of $5,000 USD

Installment 1: $5,000 USD Deposit (due date indicated in your offer letter)

Step 4 - Processing your I-20 - INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY

In order to process an I-20/DS2019 Certificate of VISA Eligibility, you must document your ability to finance your dental education.

Important Note: Your I-20 financial information does not need to be submitted by the deadline date for your program deposit, but should be forwarded as quickly as possible to expedite processing of your immigration paperwork.

  • International Dentist Program participants may finance their education through personal funds, sponsor funds, loans, or a combination of these sources.
