The information and dates below are for the 2026-27 IDP application timeline.
March 5, 2026
IDP Applications Open
Applicants can begin applying for the summer 2027 University at Buffalo International Dentist Program via CAAPID.
Our admissions committee reviews completed applications in the order in which they are received.
June 1, 2026
IDP Application Deadline
June 1, 2026, is the deadline to complete your application. All application materials MUST be completed and submitted in the CAAPID portal by June 1, 2026.
This includes having your official TOEFL and NBDE reflected in the CAAPID portal.
IMPORTANT
Please do not wait until the last few days prior to June 1, 2026, to begin and submit your IDP application, as all documents must be in your CAAPID portal by the deadline. No exceptions will be made.
June-August 2026
IDP Interview Offers Sent
The IDP Admissions Committee will send bench test and interview offers throughout July and August 2026, or until all of our spots have been filled.
Candidates selected for the bench test and interview will be notified via the email indicated in their CAAPID portal.
IMPORTANT
Unlike completed application reviews, bench test and interview offers are not necessarily made in the same order in which applications were received.
In other words, an applicant who applied in June 2026 might receive a bench test and interview offer before a candidate who applied in March 2026.
The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine no longer offers the Bench Test Preparatory Course.
September 2026
Bench Test and Interviews Begin
Only invited candidates participate in the bench test and interview process. Additional information will provided to selected candidates.
All bench test and interviews will take place in-person at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
IMPORTANT
Once the IDP Admissions Committee has officially completed sending out bench test and interview offers, all candidates who were not invited to participate will receive notification via their CAAPID email .
November 2026
Decision Notifications Begin
Those candidates who bench test and interview will receive admission decision notification.
Additional information will be provided to these candidates.
Spring 2027
IDP Admission Offers Conclude
The IDP Admissions Committee will continue communicating admission decisions to those students who bench tested and interviewed.
