Stem and Progenitor Cell Biology

HYUK JAE EDWARD KWON, DDS, PhD  personal profile

The Kwon lab is interested in how stem and progenitor cells residing in the craniofacial primordia differentiate into diverse populations of cells that play different roles in shaping our face and head. Studies have identified that these processes are controlled by complex molecular regulatory networks that are shared with many other organ systems across different species during their development, maintenance, and regeneration. Therefore, answering these questions will provide insights into a broad range of disciplines in biology and medicine, especially tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
