As you apply to the UB School of Dental Medicine, this is your guide to help you through the process and answer any questions you may have.

May 2026

AADSAS Application Opens
  • The ADEA AADSAS centralized application officially opens. Once the application opens, prospective students can begin uploading their academic history, experiences, personal statement, and letters of evaluation.
  • Applying early is strongly encouraged. While our office reviews applications on a rolling basis, submitting early allows applicants to be considered for interview opportunities as they become available and helps avoid delays caused by transcript or verification processing times.
  • Applicants should use this time to ensure all required materials are prepared, verify prerequisites, and review admissions requirements carefully.

June 2026

Application Submission Begins
  • Submission for the dental school application cycle is now open through the ADEA AADSAS centralized application system.
  • Applicants may begin submitting their completed applications, including academic history, experiences, personal statement, and letters of evaluation.

August 2026

Interview Offers Begin
  • Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via email directly with additional details and instructions. 
  • Because the process is rolling, applicants are encouraged to monitor their email regularly and ensure all application materials are complete.

September 2026

Interviews Begin
  • Dental school interviews for the current admissions cycle begin. 
  • Interviews are a key part of the dental school admissions process. They provide an opportunity for the admissions committee to get to know applicants beyond their academic records and experiences. 
  • During the interview, applicants may discuss their motivation for pursuing dentistry, relevant academic and extracurricular experiences, and personal/professional goals.
  • The interview is also an opportunity for applicants to ask questions about the program, curriculum, clinical experiences, and student life.

December 1, 2026

Completed Application Deadline
  • The deadline to submit completed dental school applications for the current cycle is December 1, 2026. 
  • All applications must be submitted through the ADEA AADSAS centralized application system with  all components of our application by this date to be considered for admission.
  • While applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, submitting your application before the deadline ensures full consideration for interviews and admission decisions. 
  • Applicants should confirm that all required materials, including transcripts, letters of evaluation, and the personal statement, are complete before submission.
  • Applicants who do not submit a completed AADSAS application with all components of our application  by our deadline will not be considered.

December 2026

Decision Notification Begins
  • Admission decision begin for those applicants who have already interviewed. 
  • Applicants will receive an official notification via the email address provided in their application.
  • Accepted applicants will receive instructions on next steps, including confirming enrollment, submitting required documentation, and preparing for orientation.
  • Those applicants who have interviewed, and are not offered immediate admission will also receive status notification.

February 2027

Final Interview Dates
  • Our admissions committee conducts the final set of interviews for this admissions cycle. 
  • This marks the last opportunity for selected applicants to engage with our admissions team, faculty, and current students as part of the holistic review process.
  • After all interviews have been completed, applicants who were not selected for an interview will be notified by email.

Spring/Summer 2027

Decision Notification Concludes
  • The admissions decision notifications conclude for this cycle. We thank all applicants for their interest, patience, and effort throughout the application process.
  • For those who were offered admission, detailed instructions regarding enrollment, documentation, and next steps will be provided.
  • Applicants who were not selected for admission are encouraged to reflect on their experiences, consider opportunities for growth, and explore the option to reapply in a future cycle if eligible.
