Prospective Student Mentorship
The ASDA Pre-Dental Committee aspires to bridge the gap between pre-dental education and dental school. The committee is comprised of current dental students with knowledge and experience in different areas such as mentorship, webinars and event coordination.
The ASDA Pre-Dental Committee uses students' knowledge and experience in mentorship, webinars, and event coordination to help prospective students. The committee hosts in-person and virtual events to support students nationwide interested in a career in dentistry. Through these events, they provide educational and informational content about the dental school application process. Participating in the mentorship program, attending virtual webinars, and joining hands-on activities at the dental school gives pre-dental students invaluable exposure to the dental field. The Pre-Dental Committee aims to inform and inspire students about dentistry and encourage them to join our school.

Pre-Dental Path Guide
- The Pre-Dental guide provides advice on how to navigate the application process so you can receive and interview.
- Topics include letters of interest vs. intent, common interview questions, shadowing, and personal statements.

Are you interested in having a dental student mentor?
- Do you have questions about applying to dental school, taking the DAT, undergraduate course requirements, interviewing, writing the personal statement, and/or life as a dental student?
- The mentorship program here at UBSDM serves as a way for pre-dental students to have a direct connection with a current dental student!
- The goal of the UBSDM mentorship program is to guide future pre-dental students through their journey to dental school (hopefully to UBSDM) and act as an additional resource they can utilize for any questions they have along the way.
- Each mentor is required to reach out to their mentee at least once every semester, to ensure that there is an open line of communication between the two.
- We offer online Zoom presentations to pre-dental clubs, student groups, and undergraduate classes.
- Our presentations can be customized to cover various dental school topics such as:
- Why dentistry? What is dental school really like?
- The application process. Taking the DAT.
- Why should you consider applying to UBSDM?
