PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences (PPBS)

The PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences (PPBS) provides an entry portal and a common first-year curriculum, equipping first year PhD students with core knowledge and concepts to support their pursuit of a PhD degree in one of several participating departments, including Oral Biology.

PPBS offers students an opportunity to experience laboratory rotations with faculty members in multiple departments before selecting a PhD mentor. Once matched with a mentor, the student matriculates in the mentor's department and completes additional departmental requirements and a dissertation project under the direction of the student's dissertation advisory committee.
