Endodontics is the branch of dentistry that is concerned with the morphology, physiology and pathology of the human dental pulp and periradicular tissues.
The study and practice of endodontics encompasses the basic and clinical sciences including the biology of the normal pulp, and the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases and injuries of the pulp and associated periradicular conditions. Endodontists typically perform root canals and other procedures designed to save a patient’s teeth.
The School of Dental Medicine offers a certificate program that includes clinical training, courses, teaching and research.
The “Certificate in Advanced Endodontics” is a unique non-credit bearing, non-degree certificate program that enables participants to obtain a distant learning post-graduate endodontic education. It is tailored for International post-graduate students and clinicians seeking to become endodontists.
