The annual SDM Art Competition brings together and curates art created by and for SDM faculty, staff, students, and residents. This friendly competition unites our community around a shared interest in art and all things creative.
We invite all SDM faculty, staff, students, and residents to submit artwork for the annual UB SDM Art Competition. Prizes will be awarded, and winners will have their artwork displayed permanently in the UBSDM.
The theme for the 2026 Art Competition is:
"Perspective:" Perspective shapes how we see and interpret the world, whether through visual angles or personal experiences. Artists are encouraged to share their unique point of view.
All members of the SDM community are eligible to submit pieces of art.
Selected artwork will be displayed in the SDM art gallery, located in Squire Hall. The Squire Hall Art Gallery extends along the 2nd-floor hallway, which borders the inner courtyard (the hallway behind the 2nd-floor dispensary).
Once selected artwork has been curated and displayed in the exhibit space, all SDM community members will be invited to vote one time for their three favorite pieces of art. All artwork will be displayed and voted on anonymously. QR codes with a link to the voting form will be included in the exhibit space and shared via email.
An award reception will be held on Feb. 20, 2026, where winners of the art competition will be announced and celebrated.
Submit your entries online through our submission form. Each entry must be submitted separately.
