The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine offers school-sponsored peer tutoring to eligible students in order to promote and support student success. If you are interested in either receiving school-sponsored peer tutoring or becoming a peer tutor, read on for more information.
School-sponsored tutoring can begin after your first exam. Students who feel they need help in their course should contact their Course Director and ask for help. The Course Director will then contact Denise Kennedy the Director of Academic Affairs to determine if the student is eligible for school-sponsored tutoring.
Students who demonstrate a pattern of insufficient academic performance may be eligible for school-sponsored tutoring. Eligibility is determined by Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Course Director.
Your tutor will be another student who has already taken the course and excelled in it. They know the challenges in the course and are suitable to help other students succeed. Tutors may be a current dental student or post-graduate student and are vetted and approved by the Course Director and Director of Academic Affairs.
Denise Kennedy the Director of Academic Affairs will assign your tutor.
