Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs is established to guide the organization and planning of the professional degree program, to facilitate the delivery of instruction, and to evaluate the outcomes of the program. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairsis primarily responsible for the effective management of all predoctoral academic programs of the School of Dental Medicine. This includes both didactic and clinical components and involves overseeing their design, delivery, evaluation, and modification. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs interacts with other administrative officers, program directors, etc. as necessary for the continued maintenance of a quality predoctoral program.

  • Transcripts

    The University at Buffalo offers students online transcript ordering services through Parchment for an additional fee. The Parchment service will facilitate your request 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Orders placed through Parchment include expedited processing, order tracking and secure delivery. Students now have the option to order electronic or paper transcripts through Parchment. Students can also include attachments with their transcript requests as needed.  This enhanced service costs $7.50 per transcript.
  • Tutoring Information

    The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine offers school-sponsored peer tutoring to eligible students in order to promote and support student success. If you are interested in either receiving school-sponsored peer tutoring or becoming a peer tutor, read on for more information.
  • Instructional Resource Center

    As a part of Academic Services, the Instructional Resource Center (IRC) provides assistance to faculty, staff and students in developing a wide array of educational materials and media related projects. The center helps faculty integrate media for educational purposes as well as provide support for instructional design, development and delivery. Projects will be completed in the order in which they are received. A projected completion date will be given when dropping off work.
  • Additional Diploma Order

    If you need an additional diploma or need to replace one, the charge is $50 for a professional diploma (16”x20”).  If you need an additional Certificate of Advanced Study or need to replace one, the charge is $40.
  • Enrollment & Degree Verification

    For proof that you are registered at the dental school or earned a dental degree, official enrollment and degree verification is available in two ways.
  • Name Change

    Current and former students may have need to change the name associated with their academic record to reflect accurately the name by which they are known in the larger world.  Typical reasons for a name change include marriage, divorce, naturalization, use of a variation of the name, etc.
