Hello! I'm Dr. John R. Tibbetts, the president of the University at Buffalo Dental Alumni Association. It is a true privilege to serve in this role, following in the footsteps of the outstanding Dr. Joseph T. DeLuca.

My connection to UB spans much of my life. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University at Buffalo in 1979, graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1992, and completed my Certificate in Orthodontics in 1994. After more than 30 years in private orthodontic practice, I continue to enjoy giving back to my alma mater as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics.

Over the years, I have witnessed the remarkable growth and evolution of our School of Dental Medicine. The University at Buffalo Dental Alumni Association plays an important role in supporting our students, faculty, and alumni through continuing education programs, the Buffalo Niagara Dental Meeting, student initiatives, scholarships, and other signature programs that strengthen our dental community.

Since graduating, I have made it a personal goal to stay actively involved with the university, whether by participating in alumni programs, supporting the Alumni Association, or cheering on the UB Bulls at home and away. Those experiences have reinforced my appreciation for the lifelong connections that make the UB community so special.

I am honored to serve as your president and look forward to connecting with many of you. I hope you'll join us at our upcoming educational programs, networking opportunities, and alumni gatherings as we continue to celebrate and strengthen the UB dental family.
