Student Health Insurance Coverage Policy

  • Beginning in the spring 2024 semester, the overall University at Buffalo no longer mandates health insurance for domestic students. Information about this policy can be found here.
  • However, all UB School of Dental Medicine enrolled students are required to maintain health insurance coverage. This is in alignment with other UB health science schools (i.e., Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing).
  • This policy is meant to ensure your well-being and keep in compliance with health regulations.
  • Health insurance documentation is required of all enrolled students at the SDM.

Student Health Insurance Attestation Form

International Students

Please see the international enrollment form for coverage.  If students arrive before 7/15/24, they can purchase 6/15/24-8/14/25 or the entire summer 5/15/24-8/14/25.

The form is created just for medical and dental school and can be used for the students who require the additional month of coverage due to classes starting earlier. The best way to get these back to our office is scanned to asksmi@buffalo.edu Unfortunately, at this time there is no updated news on the international plan.
