Admission Requirements

Applicants must have a DDS, DMD, BDS or equivalent.

Preferred Selection Criteria

  • Previous academic performance
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement: The personal statement should reflect an applicant's overall career goals, demonstrate a depth of understanding and appreciation for periodontology, and express a passion for the field of dentistry and academics. Prior research experience and a desire for an academic career is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ethical decision making
  • Problem solving skills
  • Independence
  • Ability to work with colleagues from a diverse cultural background
General Admissions Requirements

The University sets general admissions requirements for graduate study.  These include a minimum undergraduate GPA and demonstration of English Language proficiency for international applicants.

Interview and Admissions Process

A limited number of positions are available each year; early application is highly recommended.

The program is unable to accommodate interview or tour requests prior to Admissions Committee review.
