Payments and Billing

Learn how and when to make payments for your dental care.

On this page:

When Payments Are Due

  • For most services, payment for your dental treatment is due on the day the service is provided for you.
  • For procedures that take several appointments — including crowns, bridges and dentures — pre-payment may be required
  • Pre-payment is also required for your first screening visit

In most cases, you are expected to provide payment in full at the time service is rendered. Occasionally, procedures require out-of-school laboratory involvement. Therefore, prompt payment of these fees helps to ensure timely delivery of your dental treatment. No new treatment can be initiated if an account is past due. UB Dental will not be held accountable for any additional treatment that is required as a result of a delay because of an overdue balance. Patients who do not follow UB Dental payment policies are subject to discharge.

As a New York State agency, the UB School of Dental Medicine is not permitted to offer extended payment terms, with the exception of the orthodontic program.
