What is ASDA Pre-Dental?
The ASDA Pre-Dental Committee aspires to bridge the gap between pre-dental education and dental school. The committee is comprised of current UBSDM dental students with knowledge and experience in different areas such as mentorship, webinars, and event coordination. Through events held both in-person and virtually, the committee strives to assist students interested in potentially pursuing a career in dentistry on both a local and nationwide level. The committee offers educational and informational content for pre-dental students with the goal of assisting any and all interested individuals with the dental school application process. Pre-dental students can gain invaluable exposure to the dental field through participating in the mentorship program, attending virtual webinars, and participating in hands-on activities at the dental school. In this way, the Pre-Dental committee strives to inform individuals about the field, inspire them to pursue the field of dentistry and encourage them to be a part of the UBSDM family.

ASDA Pre-Dental Mentor Program
The mentorship program here at UBSDM serves as a way for pre-dental students to have a direct connection with a current dental student! The goal of the UBSDM mentorship program is to guide future pre-dental students through their journey to dental school (hopefully to UBSDM) and act as an additional resource they can utilize for any questions they have along the way. Each mentor is required to reach out to their mentee at least once every semester, to ensure that there is an open line of communication between the two.
Are you interested in having a dental school mentor from UBSDM? Do you have questions about applying to dental school, taking the DAT, undergraduate course requirements, interviewing, writing the personal statement, and/or life as a dental student?

ASDA Pre-Dental Impressions Day 2024!
The University at Buffalo ASDA Pre-Dental Committee is happy to invite you to our campus for our annual IMPRESSIONS DAY! This Open House includes a tour of the dental school, presentations from Admissions, ASDA, and faculty, a student panel, and hands-on activities.
Attending this event will allow you to gain a better understanding of our dental school as well as the Admissions process, and will provide you with an opportunity to work on your hand skills in our pre-clinical simulation lab to strengthen your dental school application.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Date/Time of event: Saturday, June 15th, 2024 from 8:00am-2:00pm
Location: University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine (UB South Campus)
Registration: To register, please follow this link and complete the registration form.
Registration is due Friday, May 31st! Closer to the date of the event, you will be required to confirm your attendance and to complete a waiver; the waiver will be sent to the email that you registered with.
This event is open to all current undergraduate students, current graduate students, and those who have graduated from college or university and are interested in potentially pursuing dentistry as a career. This event is not intended for high school students.
Registration is required. There is no fee for this in-person event.
The ASDA Pre-Dental Committee focuses on making pre-dental information accessible, informative, and fun through virtual, interactive webinars. Webinar topics range from DAT and interview tips to webinars all about the admissions process, gap years, and life in dental school. Although we are always brainstorming new webinar topics, there are a few webinars that we always repeat each year due to positive feedback from interested pre-dental students. Webinars will be announced over email to our email list a few weeks before the event. If you would like to join the email list to stay up to date about upcoming webinars, please fill out this form.
