Interview Bench Test Dates

- ALL invited candidates will bench test on a Tuesday.
- Those candidates who successfuly pass the bench test, will be invited to interview in person at the School of Dental Medicine.
- In-person interviews will take place either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.
- You will be notified of your interview date and time by Wednesday morning after your bench test.
- Candidates MUST remain in Buffalo after completing their bench test in order to participate in the in-person interview session.
- Bench Tests & Interviews are granted by invitation only.
Make Your Interview Appointment
- Invited candidates must submit the Interview Decision Form by the due date indicated in their invitation offer e-mail.
- Invited candidates who accept our invitation to interview, must also pay the IDP Bench Test fee.
- In the event that you do not intend to accept your bench test and interview invitation, please e-mail idp@buffalo.edu immediately so that other qualified candidates may receive the timely consideration.
Submit Your Bench Test Payment
- The bench test fee is $1,000 USD.
- The Bench Test Fee is non-refundable and is not credited toward any tuition or other expenses when an accepted applicant registers as a student.

Electronic Payment
- We recommend electronic submission of the Bench Test Fee via a credit card or e-check drawn on a U.S. bank, as it is the fastest and most efficient method.

Check/Money Order (note: personal checks are not accepted)
If you are unable to remit payment of the Bench Test Fee electronically:
You may submit a cashier's check, bank check or money order (personal checks are not accepted) in U.S. dollars only in the amount of $1,000 payable to University at Buffalo to:

Bench Test & Interview Invitation Confirmation
- Your bench test and interview is not considered confirmed until you receive a confirmation e-mail from the IDP Admissions office.

Bench Test Location
- The IDP Bench Test will take place in-person at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Squire Hall, UB South Campus, 3435 Main Street, Buffalo, NY 14214
- The University at Buffalo's on-line Visitor's Guide is designed to help you plan all aspects of your trip to our campus, including driving directions, campus maps, and nearby restaurant recommendations.
IDP Bench Test Logistics
Bench Test (Tuesday)
- On Tuesday, all candidates will participate in a full day bench testing pre-clinical exercise in-person.

Bench Test Eye Protection Requirement

Candidates will be in clinic and must wear scrubs or comfortable clothing; no jeans.
Bench Test Results
After the Bench Test/Results - Important
- Only those candidates who receive a passing bench test mark will be invited to interview later in the week (more information below).
- If you do not earn a passing bench test mark, you will not be invited to participate in individual interviews. Your consideration to our IDP program will end.
When will candidates be notified of Bench Test Results? - Important
- All candidates will be notified by Wednesday morning by 10:00am Eastern Standard Time.
- Candidates will be notified of their interivew date/time.
In-Person Interviews (Wednesday or Thursday)
Interviews will be conducted by the International Dentist Program Admissions Committee on either:
Wednesday (12:30pm -5:00pm)
Thursday (8:30am - 1:00pm)
- Those candidate who pass the Bench Test will be notified of their interview day.
- This is a half day consisting of an interview with the admissions committee, an information session with school administrators, and the chance to meet current students.
- Our goal is to provide an opportunity for you to acquaint yourself with the school, its facilities, our people, and the advanced standing program of study leading to the DDS degree.
