At UB, you’ll find a brand new, state-of-the-art Preclinical Simulation Center, patient clinics that offer meaningful clinical experiences outside the classroom, and direct access to international recognized thought leaders in oral medicine. Our new Advanced Education in Dentistry Implant Center will be completed in the Fall of 2021, we are adding a special needs clinic and we are updating our Advanced Education first floor clinics making the UB School of Dental Medicine an exceptional value.
The School of Dental Medicine has established the International Advanced Education Scholar Program with the goal of promoting and improving the level of dentistry at other international dental institutions. Through this program, dentists or current and future faculty members, supported by their institutions (dental schools, hospitals, and government institutions) can receive advanced education training leading to specialty certificates along with M.S. and/or Ph.D. degrees. To accommodate this program, additional positions have been created beyond those for individual applicants applying through the traditional admissions route.
While this program provides an alternate method of admission, acceptance into the International Advanced Education Scholar Program does not guarantee a certificate and a M.S./Ph.D. degree. International Advanced Education Scholar students must successfully complete their entire programs at the same level of competency as other students. For questions on this program, please contact Dr Othman Shibly at shibly@buffalo.edu.
The School of Dental Medicine accepts few applicants to this program each year. Admission is highly competitive. The application process is as follows:
Applicants for this program must submit the following:
Admissions to certificate and research programs (M.S. and/or Ph.D.) are approved by separate committees. Similarly, successful completion of the certificate and research programs (M.S. and/or Ph.D.) are determined by separate committees both of which must certify completion.
