Buffalo borders Canada and is one of the United States’ top gateways for international trade.
Many Western New Yorkers take advantage of our three international bridge crossings to visit the beaches of neighboring Fort Erie, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and cosmopolitan Toronto.
The grandeur of Niagara Falls can be enjoyed on both sides of the border. Several attractions, including the Maid of the Mist boat ride, allow visitors to get up close and personal to the Falls—not to mention a little damp—while taking in its roaring glory.
Toronto is less than a two-hour drive from Buffalo. The cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada, Toronto is also the country’s largest city, with more than 2.7 million residents.
*Figures are based on 2022-2023 salary table. Our salaries do not include the added value of your benefits, which UB GME pays. Most institutions ask you to pay for your own benefits. Add $4,000 to $5,000 to our salaries for an accurate figure of your effective salary to compare what you will earn here to other programs.
A living allowance to defray costs of on-call meals, travel, parking, etc., is added to each biweekly paycheck. The total salary will be reflected in the employment contract.
