BS/DDS Combined Degree Program

The BS/DDS combined-degree program is a seven-year program developed with several colleges across New York State. Designed for individuals who have a clear career focus prior to entering college, the program allows students to complete both a bachelor's degree and a doctor of dental surgery degree in seven years.

The UB School of Dental Medicine has Combined Degree Programs with the following schools:

  • Canisius College
  • LeMoyne College
  • Niagara University
  • St. Bonaventure University
  • St. Lawrence University
  • Siena College
  • SUNY Fredonia
  • SUNY Geneseo
  • University at Buffalo
  • Utica College

Students apply to the BS/DDS combined-degree program through the participating undergraduate school.  Students at all schools complete the first three years of the program at the undergraduate institution and the last four years at the School of Dental Medicine.

Students at all schools except the University at Buffalo are awarded the BS degree by the participating undergraduate school upon the completion of the first year of dental school. To allow for the completion of the bachelor's degree, participants must major in either biology or chemistry.

Students at the University at Buffalo are awarded the BS degree upon completion of the DDS program. To allow for the completion of the bachelor's degree, participants must major in biology.

For detailed information about admission requirements, application procedures, and program requirements, contact the participating undergraduate institution.
