Research Expertise:
  • Assistant Professor: I have focused on the study of the mechanism of bone formation and bone resorption in the field of bone biology and have obtained many significant and innovative findings. My original research work have resulted in 26 papers published in peer-reviewed scientific Journals, including papers published in Genes & Development, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, Human Molecular Genetics, Journal of Cell Science, Connective Tissue Research, Cells Tissues Organs, Journal of Dental Research, etc. My original work was also presented at national and international scientific meetings. In recognition of my outstanding work, I was honored with The Most Outstanding Abstract Award by the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research based on the highest score among more than 2000 abstracts and 5000 attendees, and was selected for oral presentation, at the 28th annual meeting of ASBMR in September 2006. In Addition, I was selected for oral presentation at the 25th meeting of ASBMR. I also received ASBMR Young Investigator Award from AIMM and ASBMR in April 2007. In addition, I was granted two scientific research awards in China in 1998 and 2000. I have been a principle investigator of two NIH grants. one of a R03 grant started from 2005 to 2008 and the other is a K08 grant started from 2008 to 2011.
