Meet Our Students

"Don't give up! It's a great profession. There will be tough times in undergrad and dental school where you feel like giving up. You have made it this far, if you really want this career you can do it!!"
"If dentistry is something that interests you, get involved in the field early, whether its assisting or shadowing. I felt that the time I spent in dental offices prior to dental school really opened my eyes to the profession."
"Although it seems cliché, my advice to students interested in dentistry is to never give up. We work in a profession where things will inevitably go the way you don't anticipate. This applies not only to book work, but also to dealing with patients and doing actual dentistry. It's important to keep a proactive mindset throughout this whole crazy process."
"Don't shy away from or give up on opportunities just because they may not fit into the typical pre-dental student mold. Everyone has a different path to Dental School and seeking out experiences that you are excited about will always express your most authentic self. "
"Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do it. I was interested in dentistry early in undergrad until someone told me how hard it was to get in and my grades weren't good enough and I canned the idea all together. After graduation my opportunity came back around when I began working as a dental assistant and decided that no matter how hard it was I was going to do it, and here I am, halfway done with dental school!"
"Jump right in! Get involved early, whether it’s shadowing or assisting, these activities can provide valuable insight into the profession. Finding a good mentor doesn’t hurt either."
