This to-do list was created to help you follow all the steps needed to request and process any financial aid for which you are eligible. Links are embedded within the text to help you identify steps that you need to take to finish this process.
Complete and submit the FAFSA early to be considered for campus-based funds, such as Federal Work Study, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Federal Perkins and Health Professions loans. The FAFSA is available beginning on October 1 of the calendar year prior to the start of your academic year.
The Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a grant for New York State residents. After completing the FAFSA, NYS residents link to the online TAP application on the FAFSA Confirmation Page. Review Applying for Financial Aid and Types of Aid process to get started
You may receive an email requesting additional information from the Office of Financial Aid in order to determine your financial aid eligibility. If you receive an email directing you to your HUB Student Center To Do List, please review the details and follow up as directed. Submit requested documentation.
UB financial aid award notifications will be sent to your UB email address when your financial aid package has been determined. View and accept your financial aid awards (PDF) in HUB Student Center. Grants and scholarships do not require acceptance.
