Why schools are dropping 'redskins'

An opinion piece on CNN about the continuing controversy over using the term “Redskins” for sports teams and their mascots quotes Wendy Quinton, clinical assistant professor of psychology. People “are more likely to negatively stereotype other ethnic groups as well,” she said. The article appeared on CNN affiliates that include KHSB-TV in Arkansas, WICU-TV in Pennsylvania and WDSU-TV in New Orleans.
