Zodiaque Dance Company’s (ZDC) 2017-2018 season marks the “Countdown to Celebration 45.” ZDC continues to keep in time with the traditions set before us while simultaneously embracing the ongoing developments of the UB Department of Theatre & Dance, as this year marks the launch of the MFA in Choreography. Zodiaque Dance Company continues to be an innovative force, advancing its inspired talents through stimulating collaborations and creative investigations, while presenting work by respected dance makers.
Staying in step with their slogan, Versatility Matters, ZDC presents choreography by UB Dance faculty Melanie Aceto, Joyce Miller Lichtenberger, and Kerry Ring. Other contributions include works by two Zodiaque alumni, Chicago-based hip hop artist Richard Ashworth and artist-in-residence Jon Lehrer. Guest Artists include AGA Collaborative, New York City-based Bryn Cohn and Artists, and local Bollywood choreographer Gaitrie Devi. Lighting by Emily Williams.
The UB Department of Theatre & Dance 2017-18 season takes inspiration from one of the five named UB 2020 themes, Innovation.
