Research Profile

Baker lab current interests concern the welfare of people who can’t produce adequate saliva, either due to genetics or treatment side effects. We feel that a comprehensive approach to the problem, involving not just treatment but preventative aspects, is both warranted and viable. As such, our lab currently works in the areas of clinically applicable implants (using new biomaterials) and resolution of inflammation (using resolvins) which we believe to be the most efficacious treatment available). Our research will bring tangible benefits to those who suffer from hyposalivation and we look forward to bringing our research programs to fruition.
